Carex - - Bamboos and Grasses

This is a dense tufted clump which is native to New Zealand. The blades are a brownish red colour. This is a useful plant or large border grass. It is also very effective in rock gardens or around walls or fences where it can drape gracefully downwards. It will prefers moist soil and light shade, but will adapt to drier conditions and full sun in coastal settings.
