This is an evergreen tuft-forming perennial, this species of grass is grown for its yellow foliage and flowers. The flat leaves are golden yellow in the spring fading to yellowish green in the summer. The flowers are produced in panicles of greenish yellow spikelets they are produced in the summer. It will grow to a height of 1m and a spread of 30cm.
