DicentraDicentra spectabilis 2lt Description
This is an arching bushy deciduous perennial clump. It will produce fern-like, mid green foliage. In mid spring racemes of pink, purple, white heart-shaped flowers will bloom on arching stems. The white inner petals of the flowers will extend from the outer petals giving the appearance of a bleeding heart. It is short-lived in mild climates and the foliage will die back by midsummer. You will need to grow in humus-rich, moist but well drained soil. You can propagate by division when dormant in late winter.
